Parks


Quality of life is rich in Selma. First, the City of Selma has several parks:
  • Davenport Park
  • FM 1518 Park
  • Stage Stop Park
  • John S. Harrison Park
  • Retama West Park
The Stage Stop Park was established in part from a grant from TXDOT that was used to restore the historic Stage Stop. Created was a visitor’s center and park amenities for Selma citizens.

Shopping


Shopping is abundant in Selma with the Forum Shopping Center being in the city’s backyard. Some of the anchor businesses in the Forum Shopping Center are:
  • Hobby Lobby
  • Macaroni Grill
  • Old Navy
  • Starbucks
  • TJ Maxx
  • Toys R Us
Major development along IH 35 near the Forum Shopping Center continues to surge.

Horse Racing


Selma is also home to Retama Park, a beautiful horse-racing facility that opened in 1995. The facility provides racing for turf and dirt running horses, catering to both quarter horse and thoroughbred racing fans, and simulcasting of races from other major race tracks throughout the country.

Community Building


Selma is community driven, committed to engaging with its citizens.  Selma residents are encouraged to participate in a number of city events, including Movie-in-the-Park, Halloween at the fire station, Santa at the Stage Stop, and National Night Out.  Make sure to check the City of Selma website or Facebook page for information and updates about city events.
